Da Nang fishermen hire cranes to bring boats ashore to avoid the storm

Da Nang - Fishermen are busy anchoring and holding their boats, many people have to hire cranes to bring their small boats ashore, choosing high locations to take shelter from the storm.

In Son Tra ward (Da Nang city), along the coast of Hoang Sa, Vo Nguyen Giap and Tho Quang Boat Dock area, fishermen are busy anchoring their boats, tying up their houses, moving their assets, and being ready to respond when the storm hits.

Early in the morning, many offshore fishing vessels quickly returned to the mainland. Each ship is arranged in a short position, with carefully anchored pillars at Tho Quang Shipyard.

Fishermen took advantage of the strengthening of anchor ropes, tying their boats tightly to the wharf posts, checking pumps, batteries, and generators to ensure absolute safety throughout the storm's operation.

On land, militia, police, and border guards coordinated with local authorities to conduct inspections and guide ships to move to safe locations, while urging people not to go to sea or travel through coastal routes.

Mr. Nguyen Van Huy (Son Tra ward, Da Nang city) said that in the past few days, he has always been worried because he was afraid that the storm would sink his small boat. Not daring to be subjective, this morning (November 6), he hired a crane to bring the boat to shore, choosing a high location to anchor and take shelter safely before the strong winds arrived.

Meanwhile, Mr. Huynh Van Ban (Son Tra ward, Da Nang city) went to the anchorage early in the morning, tied the tied post of his boat with many layers of ropes, covering the roof and sides of the boat. He was afraid that when a big storm hit, just a little carelessness could cause the wind to blow away, so he had to do it carefully to feel secure when taking shelter from the storm.

In Cu Lao Cham (Tan Hiep island commune, Da Nang city), since the beginning of the war, Cu Lao Cham Border Guard has also supported people to build houses.

According to the Central Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 7:00 a.m. on November 6, the center of the storm was at about 13.2°N - 112.3°E, about 330km East Southeast of Quy Nhon (Gia Lai). The strongest wind near the storm center is level 14 (150-166km/h), gusting to level 17. The storm is moving in a West-Northwest direction, at a speed of about 30km/h.
