Faced with the situation of many inner-city areas being partially flooded during the rainy and stormy season, the People's Committee of Da Nang City has just issued Decision No. 2371/QD-UBND, approving the investment project to build a drainage line connecting downstream of the existing sewer line on Tran Nam Trung Street (Hoa Xuan Ward), with a total investment of more than 342 billion VND.
The project was approved by Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Quang Nam, and implemented in the period of 2025 - 2028.

The project items include the construction of a box culvert from the Tran Nam Trung - Nguyen Kim intersection to the Cai River, the construction of a new Truong Minh Ky road extending from the Tran Nam Trung - Truong Minh Ky intersection to the planned road along the Cai River; at the same time, the roadbed and road surface were restored that were affected during the construction process.
The project also includes items for dismantling and relocating medium-voltage lines, investing in new wastewater drainage pipes and lighting systems down the sidewalk, along with related technical infrastructure items.
According to the leader of Da Nang City, after completion, the project will increase drainage capacity for the southern area of the city, synchronously connecting with the existing drainage system, contributing to reducing frequent flooding on Tran Nam Trung, Nguyen Kim streets and Hoa Xuan residential area.
This is one of Da Nang's key infrastructure projects to respond to climate change, enhance urban resilience, and aim to build a "safe - adaptive - sustainable - developing" city in the coming years.
