According to records, in the first days of the new year, fishermen in coastal areas such as Hoang Hoa, Hau Loc, Sam Son, Quang Xuong, Thanh Hoa province are rushing to "go to sea". The type of seafood that fishermen focus on catching is silver pomfret because the price of this type of fish has increased very high.

Mr. Vien Dinh Khuy (residing in Quang Thai commune, Quang Xuong district, Thanh Hoa province) said that in the first days of the new year, most local fishermen go to sea to start the year. During their trips to sea, fishermen really like to catch silver carp, because after Tet, many people look for this type of fish, and supply cannot meet demand.

“There are days after Tet when anchovies are scarce, the price is up to 600,000 to 700,000 VND/kg. Therefore, after each trip out to sea, any boat that catches a lot of anchovies is considered to earn millions, which is normal,” Mr. Khuy shared.
Similarly, in the coastal area of Sam Son City, in the first days of the year, Mr. Vu Nhu Ca's family (residing in Cong Vinh quarter, Quang Cu ward) and many other households are continuously going offshore to catch silver pomfret.

According to Mr. Ca, his family has been "going to sea" since the second day of Tet until now, catching silver pomfret almost every day.
“The price of anchovies has increased from 350,000 to 500,000 VND/kg depending on size. On days of scarcity, prices can reach up to 700,000 VND/kg, which is normal. On low days, we can earn more than 1 million VND, and on high days, we can earn several million VND,” Mr. Ca happily shared.

It is known that the price of anchovy is still "anchovy" at a high level, so fishermen in Thanh Hoa's sea areas are still rushing to go fishing. Every time the boat reaches the shore, traders and people are already waiting, rushing to buy.
