Horses come, gifts go to the poor
On the evening of January 30, Trieu Binh Commune People's Committee (Quang Tri province) officially launched a cluster of horse statues placed at Gia Do village eco-tourism area. The cluster of statues includes two horses made by artisan Dinh Van Tam (born 1991, residing in An Gia village, Trieu Binh commune) in about a month, large in size with a height of 3.9m, length of 5.4m, width of 2.3m, placed on a 30cm high pedestal, creating a healthy, prominent shape in the ecological space.

As soon as it was completed, the statue cluster attracted a large number of local people to admire and take souvenir photos. The launch ceremony took place in a bustling atmosphere with art performances, creating a place for entertainment and community activities near Tet.
The special highlight of the event is the "Joining Hands of Compassion" program, connecting philanthropists who are local children, businesses and social organizations to give gifts to students overcoming difficulties and studying well and households in difficult circumstances. Many practical gifts have been handed directly to people, contributing to bringing a warm Tet.

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Vu - Chairman of Trieu Binh Commune People's Committee, the commune was formed after the merger of four communes Trieu Do, Trieu Thuan, Trieu Hoa and Trieu Dai (formerly belonging to Trieu Phong district). Although newly put into operation and still facing many economic difficulties, local officials and people are always united and unanimous in socializing funds to make horse statues, create spring celebration space and dedicate hundreds of gifts to the poor.
Also according to Mr. Vu, the two statues are created in a powerful galloping posture, with a parallel composition rich in movement, evoking a feeling of breakthrough and advancing. The horse's body is firm, the muscles are clearly protruding; the mane and tail are curved like flames, creating a vital effect when placed in nighttime lighting space.

The bronze brown-orange color scheme helps the statue to be both healthy and warm, suitable for the spring atmosphere. The cluster of statues is harmoniously arranged with flower carpets and green trees, with the words "Happy Binh Ngo Spring 2026" in front, emphasizing the message of a favorable start to the new year.
Not only carrying aesthetic value, the horse statue cluster also sends expectations for a smooth, sustainable and developing new year," Mr. Nguyen Thanh Vu shared.
Ma Dao Thanh Cong" attracts border tourists
Not only Trieu Binh, but also in the border commune of Lao Bao, these days people and tourists are also excited to admire the horse statue set made by artisan Dinh Van Tam. After about 5 months of planning and construction, 8 horses were completed, shaped into a feng shui painting "ma dao thanh cong".

This is the third consecutive year that Lao Bao commune has ordered artisans to perform mascots to welcome the New Year. Previously, the dragon mascot and the pair of snakes carried the message of prosperity, cohesion, and Vietnam-Laos friendship. This year, the horse image continues to be chosen to convey the message of collective strength and will to rise up.
Mr. Tran Anh Vu - Chairman of Lao Bao Commune People's Committee said that the 8 horses are planned from September 2025, all implementation costs are from socialized sources. "Horses are symbols of strength, endurance and spirit of progress. The image of the 8 horses clearly shows the solidarity and consensus of the government and people in the new year," Mr. Vu said.

In addition to Trieu Binh and Lao Bao, a golden horse statue made by artisan Dinh Van Tam also appeared in Khe Sanh, placed at the Van Kieu - Pa Co Cultural House. The horse statue has a leisurely strolling appearance, and is called "Nhat ma thong dong" by the people, expected to become a tourist and photo spot during Tet 2026.
Notably, all horse statue projects in the above localities are implemented using socialized sources. For many years, the fact that people and businesses have joined hands to beautify their homeland through New Year mascots has become a beautiful feature, creating a unique mark in the community cultural life in Quang Tri.
