The province has implemented 16 projects to stabilize and relocate ethnic minorities in 8 districts with a budget of more than 705 billion VND.
The authorities also supported job conversion for about 2,200 households and distributed domestic water support for more than 7,300 households with a total cost of over 24 billion VND.
Mr. Nguyen Thien Van - Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, Head of the 4th Dak Lak Provincial Ethnic Minority Congress said that from now until 2029, the province will strive to increase the average income per capita in ethnic minority areas by 1.5 times, reduce the average poverty rate by 1.5 - 2%/year; the poverty rate among ethnic minorities will decrease by an average of 3 - 4%/year.
The entire Dak Lak province strives to have basically no more poor districts or particularly disadvantaged communes by 2030.
Building national unity
Currently, Dak Lak province has 921 prestigious people among ethnic minorities.
Mr. Y Gu Kpa, a reputable person in Tung Thang village, Ea Ral commune, Ea H'leo district, shared: "In the village, there are 293 households, 1,490 people with 4 ethnic groups living together. In recent years, the infrastructure in the area, although the State has invested in it, is still not synchronous.
Although people's lives have improved, poverty reduction is not yet sustainable, and the risk of falling back into poverty is high. In particular, hostile forces are always looking for ways to sabotage with increasingly sophisticated and complicated methods, potentially destabilizing people's lives."
"Local authorities need to be more active in propaganda and mobilization work to help people comply with the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws. Thereby, building great solidarity among ethnic groups right at the grassroots level," Mr. Y Gu Kpa added.
According to Mr. Y Gu Kpa, cadres working in mass mobilization and the Front need to further improve their grasp of people's thoughts and aspirations, promptly recording their legitimate recommendations and proposals.
From there, we request competent authorities to resolve this issue, to avoid allowing bad elements to take advantage of distorting, inciting, and causing disorder and insecurity at the grassroots level.
Ms. H'Bliak Nie, a prestigious person in Cu Kuin district (former Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee) said: "With my extensive experience, I feel that ensuring security and order and maintaining national solidarity in the current context is very important."
According to Ms. H'Bliak Nie, authorities at all levels, organizations, and prestigious people in the region must regularly encourage people to actively develop family economy, work and produce to have food and property, and gradually eliminate hunger and reduce poverty. This is one of the most difficult solutions.
"District and commune officials, together with the village and hamlet self-management committees, need to make recommendations and opinions to the hamlet Party cell meetings to grasp the aspirations of the people. From there, they can promote their role as a bridge between the people and competent state agencies," Ms. H'Bliak Nie added.
