Dak Lak - A resident voluntarily handed over a rare golden mountain turtle to functional agencies.

On January 12, Tay Hoa Commune Police (Dak Lak province) said that the unit had just received a rare wild animal voluntarily handed over by people.

Previously, on January 5, while returning from work, Mr. Vuong Tan Danh (residing in Tay Hoa commune) discovered a golden mountain turtle by the roadside. Realizing that the golden mountain turtle is a rare wild animal, belonging to the Vietnam Red Book and needs to be protected, Mr. Danh brought the turtle to Tay Hoa Commune Police to hand over.

Immediately after receiving it, functional forces identified the above-mentioned golden mountain turtle as belonging to the list of endangered, precious, and rare species protected by law.

Tay Hoa Commune Police have coordinated with the Tay Hoa Regional Forest Protection Department to conduct health checks, and at the same time hand over the turtle to specialized agencies for care, restoring wild habits, and waiting for re-release to the natural environment according to regulations.
