On December 16, Pleiku Ward Police received 5 golden mountain turtles voluntarily handed over by Mr. Le Van Mien (residing in Group 5, Pleiku Ward).
Previously, on December 15, while working on the iron bridge section of Cach Mang Thang Tam Street (Pleiku Ward), Mr. Mien discovered 5 yellow mountain turtles on the side of the road.
Through research on the media, Mr. Mien learned that this turtle belongs to group IIB, an endangered species that needs protection. He proactively contacted and handed over the above turtles to the Pleiku Ward Police.
After receiving them, Pleiku Ward Police coordinated with specialized agencies to check the health status and hand over 5 golden mountain turtles to Dak Doa Forest Protection Department (Gia Lai province) for rescue, care, instinct recovery, and waiting for release back into the natural environment.

Previously, many households still kept wild animals for ornamental purposes or kept in captivity due to lack of knowledge of the law. However, thanks to the propaganda and mobilization work of forest rangers and local authorities, people have proactively coordinated to protect wildlife.
At Kon Ka Kinh National Park, the functional unit conducted health check-ups, classified species, prepared records and brought individuals to the semi-wild area to restore their survival.
Eligible children will be released back into the forest in strictly protected areas of the Park.
