On National Day September 2nd, Thang Long Imperial Citadel (Hanoi) became a destination for many people and tourists. Many people choose to wear ao dai, bring national flags or red accessories to visit, take photos and record special moments on the country's big holiday.
Not only is it a familiar outfit during holidays, ao dai is chosen by many people on National Day as a way to express pride, while preserving beautiful images in the historical space of the Capital.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong (Tay Phuong, Hanoi) said that she actively chose a red ao dai to visit Thang Long Imperial Citadel on September 2nd: "Walking around Hanoi, I want to feel the National Day atmosphere in each street, each location. When I arrived at Thang Long Imperial Citadel, standing in a place associated with the nation's history, I felt touched and loved my country more. The atmosphere here is also very special, everyone is happy and excited.
Ms. Hong also said that on this occasion, she chose to wear a red ao dai because she wanted it to suit the festive atmosphere.
''Red also makes me feel more radiant and happier. I want to save a few photos as souvenirs, later looking back, I still remember how I celebrated National Day this year," said Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong.
Tran Thu Ha (Hai Phong) and a group of friends planned to go to Thang Long Imperial Citadel before the holiday.
“My friends and I want to spend a day walking around Hanoi, both sightseeing and taking photos. Because it is National Day, everyone agreed to wear ao dai, some chose red, some chose white or yellow. Standing together, it looks very fun and also feels more formal,” Thu Ha said.
According to Thu Ha, wearing ao dai on National Day not only serves photography but also helps her feel more clearly the atmosphere of the holiday.
Normally when I go to work or play, I wear modern clothes, while ao dai is usually only worn on special occasions. September 2nd is such an occasion. I want to have beautiful photos, but more importantly, I want to save memories of a National Day that I spent time exploring Hanoi," Thu Ha shared.
Going to Thang Long Imperial Citadel with a group of friends, Nguyen Minh Anh (Hanoi) said that the whole group chose ao dai with striking colors to create a joyful atmosphere.
“We want to go very early to avoid the winter and have more time to visit. When I came here, seeing many people also wearing ao dai, carrying flags or red accessories, I felt like everyone was joining in a common atmosphere. Each person has a different way of celebrating National Day but they are all very happy,” Minh Anh said.
For many people, choosing ao dai on National Day is not simply choosing a set of clothes to take photos. It is also a way for them to immerse themselves in the general atmosphere of the holiday, find spaces associated with history and preserve memories of Hanoi on this special occasion.
