Flood swept away temporary bridge in Nghe An, nearly 1,300 people isolated

Nghe An - Floods swept away a temporary bridge in Yen Hoa commune, causing nearly 1,300 people to be isolated, and travel was interrupted.

On the morning of August 20, information from local people said that the rising stream water had swept away the temporary bridge in Yen Thang village, Yen Hoa commune, Nghe An province.

The temporary bridge was erected in the area of the old Trung Thang bridge - a project that was swept away by floodwaters during storm No. 10 in 2025.

The fact that the temporary bridge continues to be swept away by floods has caused more than 300 households with nearly 1,300 people in Yen Thang, Coc Tat villages and the inner area to be isolated. People's travel, transportation of goods and daily life are facing many difficulties.

In particular, the incident affects the travel routes of teachers and students in the area as the new school year is approaching.

Currently, the water in the stream is still at a high level, with strong currents. Local authorities recommend that people absolutely do not voluntarily walk, use motorbikes or self-made vehicles to cross the swallowed bridge area, to avoid the risk of accidents.

Previously, from August 19, heavy rain appeared in many areas of Nghe An, water in rivers and streams rose. Functional agencies requested localities to closely monitor the developments of rain and floods, proactively warn in areas at risk of deep flooding, flash floods, landslides and traffic disruption.
