National Highway 29 connecting Dak Lak and Phu Yen provinces is currently a grade IV mountainous road. This route has a road surface width of 5.5m to 16m. The road structure is mainly made of asphalt concrete and asphalt crushed stone.
In reality, some points on National Highway 29 have appeared to be in disrepair. Some previously severely damaged areas have been gravel and temporarily patched.
However, the narrow road surface while the density of heavy-duty vehicles moving is increasing, posing a potential risk of traffic accidents.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan (Ea So commune, Ea Kar district) shared: "After the information about the merger of Dak Lak and Phu Yen provinces, the density of vehicles moving through National Highway 29 was very high. In addition to heavy trucks carrying agricultural products, there are many cars traveling from Dak Lak to Phu Yen for tourism and vice versa".
"With the increased density of vehicles, the authorities should soon have a plan to repair this national highway. Thereby, ensuring traffic safety and developing the economy of the two areas," Ms. Xuan added.
From the perspective of the enterprise, Mr. Pham Dong Thanh - Director of An Phuoc Automobile Transport Company Limited - shared: "When merging Dak Lak and Phu Yen, the most important factor is that intra-provincial traffic must be convenient, saving time for businesses and people.

The authorities of Dak Lak and Phu Yen provinces are studying different options for upgrading this national highway in the direction of being as efficient and economical as possible.
The road is designed with technical standards to ensure compliance with corresponding terrain, geological and hydrological conditions. The minimum investment scale must be a level III road with a design speed of 60 to 80 km/h, the road surface must have 2 to 4 lanes.
