The weather in Nam Dinh as well as the Northern provinces during the April 30 - May 1 holiday this year is hot and sunny, so the beaches are chosen by many people to cool down.
According to Lao Dong Newspaper, on May 2 and 3, the area where the sea of the church collapsed (Hai Ly commune, Hai Hau district, Nam Dinh province) was crowded with people and tourists coming here to take photos and have fun, avoiding the heat.
The church is the evidence of the church bell tower pouring on the beach of Hai Ly commune, which is the remaining trace of the Heart Church of the Lord dating back to 1877 in the fishing village of Xuong Dien. The church has been abandoned since 1996, so far becoming a famous sight in Nam Dinh.

Amidst the vastness of earth and sky, the vast ocean, the fallen church still stands there for years, appearing quiet and wild but extremely attractive. Thanks to its unique architecture and location, the Cathedral has become a check-in spot for many lovers when exploring Nam Dinh. To ensure tourists, the outside of the beach is fenced off and surrounded with a solid concrete fence.
Ms. Bui Ngoc Anh (from Thai Binh) said: "This year's April 30 holiday, my family and I chose to explore Nam Dinh and experience the wild beauty of the dilapidated church. The weather today is hot and sunny, but many people come here. To get a beautiful photo, I had to wait in line for a while before my turn."
Not only taking photos of the collapsed church, there were also many people and tourists coming here to swim in the sea to avoid the heat.
