On July 10, Phu Nghia Commune People's Committee (Hanoi) organized a Conference to support the investigation and collection of data to build environmental and social reports to serve the 2A urban railway line project from Ha Dong to Xuan Mai.
The metro line is about 20km long with 11 stations, passing through 4 wards and communes including: Yen Nghia, Chuong My, Phu Nghia and Xuan Mai.
When completed, the entire Cat Linh - Ha Dong - Xuan Mai route will be about 33km long with a total of 24 stations, the estimated travel time for the entire route is about 46 minutes. The total estimated investment is over 45,600 billion VND; the estimated implementation time is from 2026 to 2030.
The elevated railway line will start from Yen Nghia station, follow National Highway 6 in the beginning and end sections of the line, and at the same time adjust the middle section through the south of Phu Nghia Industrial Park to create land fund for urban development in the direction of large-scale TOD. The section through Phu Nghia commune is about 6.7km long.
When put into operation, the project will contribute to forming a modern public passenger transport system, with large transport capacity, safety, and environmental friendliness; reducing traffic congestion, conveniently connecting the central area with satellite cities, industrial parks, and residential areas along the route, creating motivation to promote socio-economic development of the locality and the Western Capital area.
At the conference, the consulting unit presented the content of surveying, surveying, and collecting data to serve the preparation of environmental impact assessment reports and social impact reports; and at the same time exchanged and absorbed opinions from local leaders and people on issues related to the research and project development process.

At the conference, many households proposed that the investor and consulting unit study adjusting the route direction and location of stations in the direction of minimizing the impact on existing residential areas, schools, historical and cultural relics and public works; and at the same time pay attention to building compensation, support, and resettlement plans to ensure the legitimate rights of people if land must be recovered.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Tran Van Son - Vice Chairman of Phu Nghia Commune People's Committee emphasized that the 2A urban railway line extending to Xuan Mai is a key transport infrastructure project of the City, of particular importance to the socio-economic development of the western Hanoi area in general and Phu Nghia commune in particular.
Mr. Son requested the Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board and the consulting unit to seriously and fully absorb the opinions and recommendations of the people to study and objectively evaluate in the process of completing the project dossier; pay special attention to the route plan, station location, environmental protection solutions and minimize impacts on people's lives and livelihoods.

The Vice Chairman of Phu Nghia Commune People's Committee affirmed that the local government will continue to closely coordinate with specialized agencies in the process of surveying, investigating, and collecting data; and at the same time promote propaganda and provide complete and timely information so that people understand the goals and meaning of the project, creating high consensus in the implementation process.
All legitimate opinions and aspirations of the people will be summarized and fully reflected by the Commune People's Committee to the investor and competent agencies for consideration and settlement according to regulations, ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of the people.
