Tourist cages brought ashore
On the morning of August 24, in localities in the coastal province of Quang Tri, the atmosphere of preparation to respond to storm No. 5 became urgent. People use ropes to secure the corrugated iron roof, pump water into the plastic bags to hold them.
This is the method that many households choose instead of using sandbags. They said that this option is both convenient and clean, not causing lightning on the corrugated iron roof and not letting sand spill into the garden.
Mr. Dao Xuan Sang, in Hai Duong residential group (Dong Hoi ward, Quang Tri province) said that in the past, people often used sandbags to put on the roofs, but after a long time, the bags got dirty and the sand fell onto the roofs very dirty.

Now replace with a bag of water, if any is broken, the water flows cleanly, easy to clean. Since yesterday, the family has taken advantage of the time to fight against the entire corrugated iron roof.
Along with that, many shops at Nhat Le beach (Quang Tri province) are busy removing signs and cleaning up their belongings. Mr. Pham Van Duong, a tourism service provider on Truong Phap Street, said: "Hearing the news of strong storm No. 5, we had to urgently clear the area, reinforce kiosks, tarpaulins and take everyone home to ensure safety".
In particular, at Nhat Le 1 beach, many boats serving tourists have been helped towed ashore by local people. Ms. Ho Thi Nhi, owner of a beverage shop, shared: My family has 5 hutes built close to the embankment. If they don't move in time, the storm will sweep them away. We have brought them to shore, waiting for the storm to subside to be able to pick up customers in time for the September 2 holiday.

People's proactive move of hutts and dismantling temporary coastal structures not only helps reduce damage but also shows a sense of vigilance against natural disasters. This is also a measure to quickly restore service and tourism activities immediately after the storm.
To cope with storm No. 5, from 7:00 a.m. on August 24, Quang Tri province has banned the sea, requiring all ships not to go to sea. The work of calling and guiding fishing vessels to shelters has been vigorously implemented by the border guards in coordination with localities.
The entire political system takes action
Quang Tri Provincial Party Secretary Le Ngoc Quang emphasized that Party committees and authorities at all levels need to strictly implement the direction of the Central and the province, operating the "4 on-site" motto in natural disaster prevention.
Mr. Quang requested the participation of the entire political system, especially in the context of Quang Tri implementing the two-level local government model.

Do not be subjective, negligent, or lose vigilance. It is necessary to be proactive and flexible in responding, ready to relocate people in low-lying areas, along the coast, and river mouths to safe places. Forces must both ensure security and order and prevent fires and explosions at shelters.
Currently, 6 working groups of the province have been sent to vulnerable areas to inspect and urge response work. Localities also review the system of dams and embankments, proactively plan to prevent landslides and flooding.
