On August 24, the Border Guard Command of Da Nang City said that all boats of the city's fishermen had left the danger zone of storm No. 5 (international name Kajiki) and sought safe shelter.

According to statistics, the whole city has 4,148 ships with about 21,000 workers. By 5:00 a.m. on August 24, there were still 258 ships with 2,721 workers operating at sea, but all had been informed, kept in regular contact with the mainland and mobile out of the danger zone. The remaining 3,890 ships have safely anchored in Da Nang and neighboring provinces. Notably, the two ships that were in the danger zone until the afternoon of August 23 have also withdrawn to safe storm shelters.
Along with counting, calling for and guiding fishermen, the coastal Border Guard stations have set off storm warning flares at many locations such as Son Tra peninsula, Hai Van pass, Cu Lao Cham island, Cua Dai beach and Ban Than Cape to warn, call and prevent ships from going out to sea.

The City Border Guard force coordinated with local authorities to arrange and assign boats at Tho Quang fishing port and anchorage areas; instruct fishermen to tie their vehicles tightly, minimizing the risk of collisions when the storm makes landfall. Units also deploy plans to protect storms and works, review areas at risk of landslides and flooding, and maintain forces and mobile vehicles ready to respond.
