On February 12, thousands of people flocked to the streets of District 5 (HCMC) to watch the Tet Nguyen Tieu (Full Moon Festival) parade.

From 5 p.m., hundreds of Chinese people in colorful costumes, dressed as fairies, generals... and lion dance troupes paraded around many streets in District 5.

At the festival, people can watch many performances such as stilt walking, lion and dragon dances... moving through the streets in the Cho Lon area.

The street art parade passed through many streets such as: Hai Thuong Lan Ong - Chau Van Liem - Lao Tu - Luong Nhu Hoc - Nguyen Trai - Tran Xuan Hoa, Tran Hung Dao and ended at the District 5 Cultural - Sports Center.

In addition to the parade, in the evening of the same day, at the District 5 Cultural - Sports Center, there was also a Lantern Festival Night, with many special performances and art performances by Chinese clubs and groups...

Tet Nguyen Tieu (also known as Tiet Thuong Nguyen, Tiet Hoa Dang…) is one of the traditional festivals that has existed for a long time. On the occasion of Tet Nguyen Tieu, people often go to pagodas and temples to pray for a year of health, peace, prosperity and wealth.

The Lantern Festival - an intangible cultural heritage has been included in the series of events celebrating the nation's traditional New Year and is one of 19 typical cultural, artistic and festival events in Ho Chi Minh City.
