On the morning of June 1, the leader of Nha Trang City People's Committee said that he was urgently verifying and clarifying the incident in which people recorded a scene of a cyclo driver being offensive to foreign tourists and a baby.
The clip was posted by a social media account named T.L showing a foreign woman and a baby paying a cyclo rider.
However, the cyclo driver showed signs of anger, disagreed with the fare, and then snatched money from tourists, making both of them seem scared.
Right after the clip was posted, many people expressed their indignation.
Account N.T.L wrote: "The story is not known for its right or wrong, but such an attitude towards tourism service is very poor, the government should handle it strictly or we will lose customers". Another user commented: "Really disappointed, even though life is difficult, such behavior is unacceptable".
The leader of Nha Trang City People's Committee said that he had received information about the incident and was directing the authorities to coordinate in verifying.
Meanwhile, a representative of the Nha Trang City Cyclo Union confirmed that they had received the feedback and were conducting an internal inspection, identifying the person involved to have a suitable handling direction.
