On June 7, in Binh Dinh, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh - Head of Inspection Team No. 1 under Decision 486/QD-TTg - chaired a working session with ministries, branches and localities on the implementation of key transport projects planned to be completed in 2025.
Inspection Team No. 1 focused on inspecting 4 component projects of the North - South expressway in the East, including the sections: Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan, Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon, Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon and Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh. These projects have a total length of more than 231km, a total investment of about VND50,000 billion, accounting for about 23% of the volume needed to complete the target of 3,000km of expressway by 2025.
Central Expressway expected to finish on time
According to the report of the Ministry of Construction, the site clearance (GPMB) work has been basically completed. Binh Dinh and Phu Yen provinces have handed over almost all of the cleared land for the project; there are still some minor problems in Quang Ngai province being handled.

The Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan project (Da Nang city) is nearly 11.5km long, and has currently reached 64% of the construction volume, exceeding the plan. It is expected to be technically opened to traffic on August 19 and put into operation the entire route on the occasion of National Day, September 2.
The Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon project is 88km long and is currently facing some difficulties in site clearance, including 4 hot spots related to compensation complaints, resettlement arrangements and material transportation. However, contractors have completed nearly 64% of the volume and are trying to speed up. It is expected that part of the route will be put into operation from August 19, the rest will be completed before September 30.
Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon project is 70.1km long, currently constructing more than 72% of the volume. In particular, the length of 45km (from km25 to the end of the route) will be opened on the occasion of National Day 2.9; The rest is about 24km long expected to be completed by the end of September this year.

The Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh project, covering a distance of 61.7km, has completed about 76% of the construction volume. The biggest problem is the additional defense land of more than 7,000m2 in Binh Dinh, which is currently waiting for the Prime Minister's direction. The main sections are expected to be technically open to traffic from mid-August to the end of September.
According to the Ministry of Construction, if the current progress is maintained, about 86/231km of the 4 component projects will be technically opened to traffic on August 19, including: the entire Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan route (11km), 10km of the Quang Ngai - Binh Dinh border and 65km from Phu My intersection to the North of Cu Mong tunnel.
The remaining 115km is expected to be opened to traffic in September, ensuring the goal of completing the expressway synchronously through the Central region before the end of 2025.
Not chasing progress but ignoring technical standards
At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh praised the efforts of the provinces, investors and contractors in the past time. He also requested the parties to continue to focus highly on management work, determined not to "miss" the national goal.
The Permanent Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the goal of 3,000km of expressway in 2025 is a political order, and cannot be backtracked. Today's meeting is not only a review, but also to finalize the work, clearly identify responsibilities, to focus on completing the unfinished work, ensuring the finish line as committed.

Regarding construction, the Permanent Deputy Prime Minister requested investors and contractors to focus highly, organize continuous construction in 3 shifts and 4 teams, mobilize maximum human resources, machinery and materials to compensate for progress, even exceeding the plan.
Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh paid special attention to responding to unfavorable weather, especially the upcoming storm season - an issue affecting the construction of tunnels, bridges and pass sections.
The Permanent Deputy Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Construction to closely coordinate with localities and consulting units in controlling construction quality, preventing the situation of running on schedule without ignoring technical standards. " acceleration must be a symbol of national construction quality," he emphasized.
Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh concluded that the Government highly appreciated the sense of responsibility and efforts of contractors, construction units and project management boards in adjusting the reasonable volume, applying technical solutions suitable for each project and specific terrain to accelerate the construction progress. Many sections are expected to complete the National Day 2.9, some segments are completed early to organize the inauguration. This is a positive signal, showing the spirit of initiative and high determination of stakeholders.
