Reasons why Ho Chi Minh City and the South have rain all day long

HẠ MÂY |

Ho Chi Minh City and the South had rain all day long, causing flooding on many roads.

On September 21, widespread thunderstorms occurred throughout the day in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces and cities. The rain caused flooding on many streets in Ho Chi Minh City.

Thunderstorms are still developing, causing showers and thunderstorms in the Southern region. In the coming hours, thunderstorms will continue to develop and cause showers and thunderstorms in the above areas, then the thunderstorms will expand and spread to other neighboring areas.

Rainfall is generally 15-30mm, some places over 30mm. During thunderstorms, beware of tornadoes, lightning, hail, strong winds of level 5-8 (8-21m/s), heavy rain causing localized flooding.

According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, the tropical convergence zone has an axis through the North Central region. The southwest monsoon in the Southern region is gradually decreasing and operating at an average intensity. Therefore, thunderstorms occur widely with moderate rainfall, with some places having heavy rain in the region.

From 72 hours to the 10th day, the low pressure trough has an axis through the North Central region. The southwest monsoon operates at an average intensity. Above, the southern subtropical high pressure has an axis through the South and tends to encroach on the West. Therefore, rain tends to decrease in both area and volume.

From September 26, the axis will move northward through the Central and North Central regions. The East wind disturbance will operate well and affect the weather in the South from September 26-29.

The water level on the Dong Nai River at Ta Lai is changing slowly. The water level at 1 p.m. on September 21 at Ta Lai was 112.47m, below the warning level of 20.03m. In the next 24 hours, the water level on the Dong Nai River at Ta Lai will fluctuate between warning levels 1 and 2.

It is necessary to be on guard against the possibility of heavy rain combined with floods causing inundation and landslides on river banks, streams, and low-lying areas in Tan Phu and Dinh Quan districts of Dong Nai province and neighboring areas.
