Talking to the Lao Dong newspaper on the afternoon of May 13, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Thien Tong - former Chairman of the Aviation Technology Department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology said that it is impossible to say leaking T3 station, Tan Son Nhat airport is small. In contrast, this is an alarming sign of the quality of the project. If you do not check carefully, the works that do not guarantee the quality implicit quality somewhere, what about later?
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thien Tong suggested that it is necessary to re-inspect and supervise all issues related to construction. Even supervision needs to be objective and transparent. Avoid the situation where the supervisor is a "family", a familiar place will not guarantee accurate results.
Regarding the consideration of handling responsibilities, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thien Tong expressed that it is impossible to just draw general lessons. Because if there are no sanctions, reckless workers can still recklessly do it.
Aviation experts also expressed concern when thinking about another project invested by ACV. That is Long Thanh airport. One of the reasons that ACV gave for the leakage of Terminal T3 was due to time pressure. Meanwhile, Long Thanh airport has been very slow in selecting a contractor, now the need to press the progress, will this project ensure quality or not?
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that during the heavy rain on the afternoon of May 7, the T3 terminal, Tan Son Nhat airport, encountered a water leak.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, a leader of the T3 terminal construction project management board said that the water leak occurred at the glass roof that was lit up in the waiting area for the terminal's departure gate.
The main reason is determined by the hot weather lasting in recent days in Ho Chi Minh City, making the temperature on the glass roof sometimes up to 70-80 degrees Celsius. The heavy rain in the afternoon 7.5 has made the glue on the roof stretched, creating open positions, causing water to flow to the floor waiting for passengers.
The leader of the T3 Terminal Project Management Board also shared that because the project was constructed ahead of schedule to put into operation early, the project did not have enough time for actual testing, leading to this unexpected incident.
