On March 2nd, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Khanh - Deputy Head of the Economic, Infrastructure and Urban Department of Kim Tra ward (Hue City) said that after the reflection of Lao Dong Newspaper, the illegal brick factory in Hue for many years has been requested to immediately stop operating; and is currently relocating and dismantling assets to hand over land according to regulations.
Mr. Khanh said that according to the plan, from January to March 2026, inventory and inventory handling will be carried out; from April to May 2026, dismantling and relocation will be carried out. Kim Tra Ward People's Committee has established an inspection team and worked with businesses on handling assets on land. If businesses do not relocate after the deadline, the ward will organize coercion according to regulations.

“Immediately after Lao Dong Newspaper reflected, the ward invited the company's board of directors to work and issued a document requesting immediate termination of operations according to regulations and the factory's leaders complied. At the same time, we are monitoring and urging to quickly promote the relocation plan to ensure no environmental pollution,” Mr. Nguyen Xuan Khanh informed.
Leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Hue City affirmed that the factory has been requested to cease operations since 2021, and continuing production is completely against regulations. The Department will coordinate with Kim Tra Ward People's Committee to handle it in accordance with the law. According to leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Hue City, the department is coordinating with the police force to quickly verify, work and is carrying out inspection steps to handle it strictly according to regulations.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper had a series of articles reflecting the environmental pollution caused by the Tuynel brick factory of Tuynel Brick Joint Stock Company No. 1 Thua Thien Hue at No. 56 Ly Nhan Tong Street, Hue City. Although from 2020, the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province (now Hue City) requested the relocation of the factory to a suitable area, by the end of 2025, the factory still operated illegally.

The brick factory has seriously deteriorated, the kiln area is old, the walls are peeling and the roof is rusty. Finished bricks are piled up, occupying a large area. In particular, coal, stone and production waste are dumped and discharged openly without protective measures, posing a risk of dust and environmental pollution.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Khanh informed that the factory was required to stop operating from 2021 due to the expiration of the land lease term and inconsistency with the plan. However, after that, the enterprise still blatantly maintained production activities without complying with the direction of the local government.
