On the morning of November 1, the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order of An Giang Provincial Police announced that it had just completed receiving applications for ID cards for prisoners serving sentences in 2024.
Accordingly, it has coordinated with relevant professional units and local police to review, collect, update and clean up population information data for prisoners serving sentences at detention facilities in the province. Thereby, the organization collected mobile identification records for 29 prisoners serving sentences at the An Giang Provincial Police Detention Center.
According to An Giang Provincial Police, the issuance of ID cards to prisoners is carried out in accordance with legal regulations, clearly demonstrating the humane policies of the Party and State and also encouraging prisoners to strive, actively reform, and soon complete their sentences. At the same time, it creates opportunities for those who have made mistakes after being released from prison and returning to their localities to have their civil rights restored and quickly reintegrate into the community.
