While Hanoi is experiencing a period of intense heat, at Noi Bai International Airport, the weather conditions in the aircraft parking area are even harsher when the concrete surface temperature recorded is up to 71 degrees Celsius.

On May 25, recorded at Noi Bai International Airport, the temperature in the flight area increased due to concrete absorbing heat on a large scale, combined with the heat from the aircraft engine during operation, making the air at the apron sultry and stuffy.

In harsh weather conditions, officials and employees working at the flight area still maintain continuous operations to ensure absolute safety for flights.

According to the unit's representative, the peak hot weather is also the period when forces must accelerate the deployment of many maintenance and repair items to keep up with the progress before the rainy and storm season.

Regularly performed tasks include patrolling the airfield area, cutting grass, dredging the drainage system, collecting foreign objects (FOD), checking the approach lighting system, signal signs as well as painting aircraft parking positions according to aviation safety standards.
Despite having to work on a burning concrete foundation, all stages are still strictly implemented according to technical procedures to ensure exploitation safety.

A leader of the Noi Bai Airfield Area Exploitation Center said that the unit has proactively adjusted working hours, arranged flexible shifts to reduce the impact of hot weather on workers' health but still ensure professional tasks and flight safety.
The unit prioritizes the health of workers, and at the same time maintains forces ready to handle unexpected situations arising in the flight area," this person said.

In addition, the Trade Union of Noi Bai International Airport also organized visits, encouragement and support for workers working in areas affected by high heat waves.

According to a representative of Noi Bai airport, harsh working conditions in the airfield area are a major challenge for the technical and operating labor force. However, the units still strive to maintain stable operations to ensure flight safety and passenger service quality at the airport gateway of the Capital.
