According to reporters' records, the N3 overpass branch (belonging to the An Phu intersection project) directly connecting Mai Chi Tho street through Dong Van Cong has now taken shape, officially connected from Mai Chi Tho street crossing Dong Van Cong street.

Up to now, the entire bridge pier system of branch N3 has been basically completed. Most of the girder slab system made of reinforced concrete has been seamlessly assembly. At the construction site, construction units are mobilizing maximum equipment and dividing many fronts of manpower to focus on performing the work of making guardrails on both sides of the railing.
At the same time, the work of knitting steel and pouring concrete for 2 sections of the approach road to the bridge at both ends of the route is also being urgently carried out by contractors, ensuring continuous connection to prepare for the steps of asphalt paving to complete the road surface.
The N3 bridge branch is designed specifically to serve the traffic flow from Mai Chi Tho street turning left into Dong Van Cong street (direction to Cat Lai port cluster).
When put into use, this item will bring trucks and containers onto the overpass, completely eliminating the intersection point at the same level as the traffic flow going straight on the Mai Chi Tho axis in and out of the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway.

The operation of branch N3 will directly solve the situation of localized congestion at the turn on the ground, maximizing the effectiveness of reducing traffic jams after the HC1-01 and HC1-02 underpasses went into operation in the past time.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (the investor), the entire An Phu intersection project has now been extended to the second quarter of 2026 due to some previous problems. In the current construction orientation, the N3 overpass branch is a key item prioritized to accelerate progress to "reach the finish line" as soon as possible on April 30th.

Next, bridge branches N4 (from Dong Van Cong street turning right to Mai Chi Tho), bridges N1. 1 and N1. 3 (turning left from Mai Chi Tho street to the expressway) are also being constructed simultaneously to ensure the goal of completing the entire elevated traffic network before June 30, 2026.
The early closing of this intersection cluster plays a strategic role in clearing the largest traffic bottleneck in the East of Ho Chi Minh City, increasing cargo transport capacity in and out of seaports and creating a stepping stone for synchronous connecting infrastructure when Long Thanh International Airport goes into operation.
