Recorded on the first day of the September 2nd holiday - August 29th, metro line No. 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) was bustling with passengers. Many people and young people chose electric trains as the main means of transportation to move from the gateway area to the center of Ho Chi Minh City to have fun, visit tourist attractions or continue personal schedules.
Mr. Tran Nguyen Thien Bao (student, Tay Ninh province) chose to take the metro from the National University station to Ben Thanh station.
If traveling by ordinary road vehicles on holidays, it is very easy to get stuck, it takes 1 to 2 hours and the cost is quite high. While taking the metro only takes about 30 minutes with a ticket price of 15,000 VND, which is both time-saving and much more economical" - Mr. Bao shared with Lao Dong Newspaper.
Sharing the same experience, Mr. Lam Minh Long (student, Lam Dong province) shared that choosing the metro makes the journey lighter: "Going on the metro only costs 11,000 VND for the section from the High-Tech Park to Tan Cang station. Trains run on time, no worries about traffic jams or dust, very convenient on peak days".
Besides the flow of people returning to their hometowns, many people also choose metro line No. 1 as the main means of transportation to go out and visit famous tourist attractions in the central area of Ho Chi Minh City.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Nhu (HCMC) excitedly said: "From the University of Vietnam HCMC urban area to the center, if taking the bus, it takes more than 1 hour, while the metro only takes more than 30 minutes. The train travels smoothly and quickly, very suitable for taking check-in photos during holidays".

In order to better meet the increasing travel demand of people and tourists during the National Day 2/9 holiday in 2026, Urban Railway Company No. 1 Co., Ltd. has proactively developed a plan to strengthen sanitation and ensure security and order on the entire Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro line.
