On May 1, a source from a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper said that Mr. Nguyen Van Kiet - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tien Giang province - signed report No. 1792 on the licensing and sand mining situation to serve key traffic projects and works in the Mekong Delta region.
According to this report, for the Ring Road 3 - Ho Chi Minh City project, Tien Giang was assigned a target of providing 6.6 million m3. As of April 25, the locality has provided 93,727 m3 of sand for the project.
For the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project, the assigned target is 4.55 million m3. By April 25, the sand mines in Tien Giang had just been licensed, were eligible for exploitation and were waiting to sign contracts with construction contractors.
For the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway project and the Ho Chi Minh road project, the Rach Soi - Ben Nhat and Go Quao - Vinh Thuan sections, the total target for sand supply is 3.8 million m3. As of April 25, the sand mines assigned to these projects have been licensed, are eligible for exploitation and are also waiting to sign contracts with construction contractors.
Particularly at component project 2 of the Cao Lanh - An Huu expressway construction project phase 1, Tien Giang has provided 151,901.11 m3 of sand.
Previously, on April 22, the People's Committee of Tien Giang province issued a document directing relevant units to speed up the licensing and sand mining progress to serve key transport projects in the Mekong Delta region.
Accordingly, the People's Committee of Tien Giang province requires mine owners who have been granted a mining license to urgently fulfill their financial obligations (monetry for mineral exploitation rights, land rent, signing land lease contracts) and organize exploitation no later than April 25, 2025.
Enterprises such as Khang Thong Group Joint Stock Company, Duc Loi Company Limited, Dai Hung Thinh Investment and Development Joint Stock Company, Tien Giang Construction Investment Joint Stock Company are required to urgently install journey equipment, connect to transmit data to the Department of Agriculture and Environment before April 25.
Four other enterprises are completing legal documents, including Khang Thong Group Joint Stock Company (Ngu Hiep mine, Tan Phong-1 mine), VT&TC CNG Ngo Minh Truong Company Limited (Ngu Hiep-2 mine), Truong Phat Company Limited (Kim Son mine), Hiep Phu Company Limited (Tan Phong mine) must submit the licensing documents before May 20.
The Provincial People's Committee also assigned the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with units to inspect the price of sand installed at the mine, announce the price according to regulations and propose the Provincial People's Committee to handle units that are slow or do not strictly implement the price declaration.
According to Notice No. 283 of the Government Office, Tien Giang province was assigned by the Government to provide a target of about 15.95 million m3 for projects, including: Can Tho - Ca Mau project about 2 million m3, component project 2 of Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway project about 4.55 million m3, Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project about 6.6 million m3, component project 2 of Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway Project about 0.95 million m3, Ho Chi Minh Road project, Rach Soi - Ben Nhat and Go Quao - Vinh Thuan section about 1.85 million m3.
