Hanoi - Many bus routes using electric cars will start operating from January 18, 2025.

With the goal of accelerating the progress of replacing diesel buses with electric buses, green energy and as a basis for building norms and unit prices for the missing electric bus types (medium and small), based on the proposal of the Department of Transport, the Hanoi People's Committee has approved the pilot order for 4 bus routes No. 05, 39, 47, 59 using medium and small electric buses for a period of 1 year for 3 transport units.

Including route 05 (11 small electric buses), route 39 (17 medium electric buses) of Hanoi Transport Corporation; 1 route 47 (18 medium electric buses) of Newway Transport Joint Stock Company; Bao Yen Construction Service Tourism Company Limited has 1 route 59 (20 medium electric buses).

After a period of urgent preparation for investment in infrastructure, vehicles, and human resources, transport units have now completed the necessary preparations to put bus routes into operation as planned.

To serve people's travel needs before Tet, on January 17, 2025, Hanoi Transport Corporation will launch electric bus routes 05, 39, 47 and officially put into operation routes 39, 47 using medium electric buses from January 18, 2025.

On the same day, January 18, 2025, Bao Yen Construction Service Tourism Company Limited will put into operation bus route 59 using medium electric buses. Bus route 05 will continue to be put into operation after completing the required procedures.

Putting medium and small electric bus routes into pilot operation will add more types of environmentally friendly green electric buses, continue to improve the quality of bus vehicles, and better meet people's travel needs.

Bus route number 05: Mai Dong - Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment.

Route: Mai Dong (Den Lu parking lot) - Tan Mai - Truong Dinh - Giai Phong - Nguyen Huu Tho - Nghiem Xuan Yem - Kim Giang - Khuong Dinh - Nguyen Trai - turn around at the opening point opposite 160 Nguyen Trai - Nguyen Trai - Vu Trong Phung - Nguy Nhu Kon Tum - Hoang Dao Thuy - Tran Duy Hung - Nguyen Chanh - Mac Thai Tong - Trung Kinh - Pham Van Bach - Ton That Thuyet - Nguyen Hoang - Ham Nghi - Nguyen Co Thach - Ho Tung Mau - turn around at the opposite gate of Mai Dich cemetery - Ho Tung Mau - Cau Dien - Phu Dien - Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment and vice versa.

Route: Nghia Do Park - Nguyen Van Huyen - Nguyen Khanh Toan - Tran Dang Ninh - Nguyen Phong Sac - Xuan Thuy - Pham Hung - Khuat Duy Tien - Nguyen Trai - Tran Phu - Phung Hung - Cau To - Phan Trong Tue - Ngoc Hoi - Nguyen Bo - Tran Thu Do - Do Muoi - Bui Huy Bich (in front of the inter-agency headquarters of Hoang Mai District People's Committee) - internal road of Ao Sao New Urban Area (Thinh Liet Ward) - Kim Nguu Riverside Road - Mai Dong (Den Lu Parking Lot) and vice versa.

Bus frequency: 12-15-20 minutes/trip.

Route: Long Bien (bus-only road - from Yen Phu to Hang Than slope) - Yen Phu - Long Bien transfer point - Tran Nhat Duat - Chuong Duong bridge - Long Bien embankment, Xuan Quan - Da Ton street - DT379 - Ecopark urban area internal road (Rung Thong road - turn around at Rung Thong - Rung Thong - Rung Co roundabout) - Long Bien embankment, Xuan Quan - Bat Trang (bus stop - 100m from Bat Trang pottery market gate) and vice versa.
