Prolonged heavy rain caused flash floods and landslides in many locations on national highways in Lai Chau, causing National Highway 32 and National Highway 279 to be completely blocked.
Functional forces advise people not to move into dangerous areas.
On July 17, the Traffic Police Department of Lai Chau Provincial Police said that due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain, flash floods and landslides occurred on National Highway 32 at Km357, Km358 and Km359 in the communes of Pac Ta and Muong Than.

A large amount of soil and rock from the slope slid down the road surface, causing National Highway 32 to be completely paralyzed through this area. Up to now, functional agencies have not been able to determine the traffic opening time.
