Lai Chau - After days of heavy rain, many localities are being devastated by floods.

On July 17, according to information from the Traffic Police Department of Lai Chau Provincial Police, due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain, many points on National Highway 32 experienced flash floods and landslides.

Accordingly, points from Km357 to Km359 in the territory of Pac Ta and Muong Than communes were landslides with large volumes of soil and rock, causing National Highway 32 to be completely blocked. Up to now, functional forces have not been able to determine the traffic flow time.

In addition, at Km167+450 National Highway 279, the section passing through Chieng Ban village, Muong Kim commune, also experienced landslides, causing traffic to be completely cut off.

Prolonged heavy rain also caused floodwaters to rise in the Km354 area on National Highway 32, passing through Che Bo village, Team 11, Muong Than commune. Mud and tree branches overflowed onto the road surface with a length of about 800m, making vehicles temporarily unable to circulate.

Faced with the complicated developments of the weather, the Traffic Police Department of Lai Chau Provincial Police recommends that people not move into areas where landslides and flash floods are occurring.

Proactively choose a suitable route and comply with the directions and traffic diversion of functional forces at the scene.

At the same time, people are recommended to regularly follow notices from functional agencies to update traffic conditions, proactively plan their travel, and ensure safety in conditions where the weather continues to be complicated.

Ms. Trieu Thi Lai (Muong Than commune) said: "I myself am very worried that the floodwaters on the street look too terrible, the 1st floor is uninhabitable, I am also too worried about my parents, my grandparents are far away.

The Traffic Police Department of Lai Chau Provincial Police said that it will continue to coordinate with relevant units to monitor the situation, organize to ensure traffic order and safety and promptly provide information to people.
