At Le Hong Phong Primary School (Gia Vien Ward), since 5am this morning, the school's kitchen has begun to heat up, preparing nearly 40 servings of breakfast for people taking shelter from the storm at school. A hot breakfast with full nutrition and green vegetables helps people feel secure waiting for the storm to pass.
According to the school representative, this is the second meal the school has served to people who have come to take shelter from storm Wipha. Previously, on the evening of July 21, the school prepared more than 30 meals for people coming to shelter from the storm, mostly the elderly, children, and the sick. In addition to ensuring nutrition, food safety is a priority. "We are very happy that the people are eating deliciously and happily. That is a great encouragement and support for the school's teachers and staff, joining hands with the city to fight the storm" - Principal of Le Hong Phong Primary School Nguyen Thi Thu Huong shared.
At Nguyen Hue Primary School, hot meals are also prepared by the school's teachers and staff for the people of the old apartment buildings and groups in Hong Bang ward to take shelter.
According to a report from Hai Phong City, on the evening of July 21, the city completed the evacuation of more than 16,000 people from dangerous areas, of which nearly 5,000 people in degraded apartment buildings and blocks were taken to safe shelters. Hai Phong City Party Secretary Le Tien Chau emphasized that mobilizing people to temporary shelters is an urgent decision to protect people's lives and health from natural disasters. Government at all levels will ensure absolute safety of people's property at their place of residence. The locality will arrange medical staff to be on duty 24/7, especially for the elderly, people with underlying diseases, and children. At the same time, ensure food safety and environmental sanitation at concentrated living locations.
