In the past nearly 3 years, the railway industry has coordinated with the Vietnam Martyrs' Families Support Association to implement a program to transport martyrs' remains free of charge and provide free train tickets for accompanying relatives, contributing to bringing dozens of heroic martyrs back to their homeland.
According to the Railway Transport Joint Stock Company, in 2024, the unit exempted train tickets for 72 relatives and transported 36 sets of martyrs' remains. In 2025, this number is 82 relatives and 41 sets of martyrs' remains respectively. As of July 2026, the railway industry continues to support 40 relatives and transport 20 sets of martyrs' remains to their families.
To date, the railway industry has exempted train tickets for 194 relatives of martyrs, accompanying the transportation of 97 sets of martyrs' remains on national railway lines.
Not only performing transportation tasks, each train is also a meaningful journey, carrying gratitude to those who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. The free transportation of martyrs' remains and support for train tickets for relatives demonstrates the social responsibility of the railway industry, and also contributes to sharing with families in the journey of searching, repatriating and bringing relatives back to be buried in their hometowns.
Representatives of the railway industry said that being accompanied in these special trips is an honor for officials and employees throughout the industry, thereby expressing deep gratitude to generations of fathers and brothers who sacrificed for the Fatherland.
Trains still run day and night, not only connecting regions and regions but also extending the emotional journey of heroic martyrs back to their homeland and families.
