Van Don district - the place with the largest scale of marine aquaculture in Quang Ninh province - ranked second with a total loss of more than 3,693 billion VND, of which the loss of marine aquaculture alone was over 2,200 billion VND.
Next is Uong Bi City, with 3,200 billion VND; Quang Yen Town with more than 2,305 billion VND. Storm No. 3 caused damage to Dong Trieu Town of more than 1,148 billion VND and Cam Pha City of more than 1,000 billion VND, while causing damage to Tien Yen District of more than 960 billion VND, Ba Che District of more than 740 billion VND, Co To Island District of more than 192 billion VND, Mong Cai City of more than 190 billion VND...
According to statistics from the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province, up to this point, Quang Ninh has more than 102,000 houses with unroofed roofs, 251 houses collapsed; more than 4,900 houses were flooded and landslides.
Regarding agriculture: More than 2,600 aquaculture facilities were damaged, 41 ships sank; more than 7,400 hectares of crops and rice were flooded; more than 2,000 livestock and more than 345,000 poultry were killed or swept away; nearly 90,000 hectares of planted forests were broken.
Regarding electricity and telecommunications: More than 5,400 electric poles of all kinds were broken or fell; 73 power stations, 1,211 telecommunications stations lost communication and 739 telecommunications poles were damaged...
Other material damage: About 70% of trees were broken and felled; 165 ships of all kinds were sunk or drifted; 148 landslides occurred on the positive slope, 54 landslides occurred on the negative slope; 34 flooding points caused traffic jams. Many high-rise buildings, offices, and schools were severely damaged; infrastructure in coastal industrial parks in Quang Yen Town was severely damaged over a large area...
Currently, the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province is assigning relevant departments, branches and units to urgently complete documents (reports/projects, draft Proposals, draft Resolutions...) on a number of urgent policies that need to be issued soon to overcome damage, stabilize life and restore production and business after storm No. 3, to submit to the People's Council of Quang Ninh province for consideration in an extraordinary meeting, scheduled for September 23.
Issues being studied for consideration by the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Council include: Increasing social security subsidies, Tuition support, Support for house construction and repair, Support for salvage of sunken ships, Support for loan interest rates and loan policies...
Up to now, Quang Ninh has basically completed cleaning and sanitation on the streets; deployed support for people to repair houses with blown-off roofs or collapsed houses; restored power to over 80% of customers; restored mobile waves and internet to 100%.
Production and business activities have been restored. The entire coal industry, industrial parks and economic zones have returned to normal operations. Some accommodation and tourism establishments have resumed operations, welcoming nearly 18,000 tourists. 100% of educational establishments have stabilized teaching and learning; 100% of medical facilities across the province have examined and treated people before, during and after the storm.
Quang Ninh strives to complete repairs and construction of new houses for households damaged by storm No. 3 in November 2024.
