Ninh Binh overcomes landslide on Ta Day dyke slope due to heavy rain

Ninh Binh - Prolonged heavy rain caused the upstream slope of the left Day dike passing through Kim Bang ward to landslide.

On September 16, Kim Bang ward, Ninh Binh province urgently overcomes the landslide of the upstream slope of the left Day dike in the area.

Accordingly, due to the impact of terrain conditions and prolonged heavy rain, from September 13 to September 16, in Kim Bang ward, there was an incident of landslide and slippage of the upper slope of the left Day dike, the section from K100+810 to K100+828 belonging to Que Lam residential group, Kim Bang ward.

Through inspection, the eroded dyke slope section has a landslide arc length of about 18m. Upstream is the foot of the dyke adjacent to the pond, downstream there is a dyke structure adjacent to the foot of the dyke which is the pond. This is a dyke section combined with National Highway 21B traffic.

After detecting the incident, Kim Bang Ward People's Committee coordinated with Kim Bang Dyke Management Unit to inspect, determine the scope and extent of impact and implement handling measures. Implementing the "4 on-site" motto, the Ward People's Committee mobilized forces, vehicles, cranes and supplies such as: sand, packaging, shovels, bamboo stakes, to reinforce the landslide area, limit the risk of further landslides, contributing to ensuring the safety of the dyke line.

In addition, the Ward People's Committee organizes zoning and placing warning signs in dangerous areas for people to know and proactively prevent; arrange forces to regularly inspect and monitor the developments of the dyke slope, especially during the time when there is continued rain. At the same time, continue to coordinate with the Kim Bang Dyke Management Unit to monitor and assess the developments of incidents, prepare necessary personnel, vehicles, and materials to promptly handle when situations arise and report to competent authorities for guidance and direction on solutions to overcome and ensure the safety of dyke works.
