Big explosion at illegal stone mine, 1 person seriously injured

Lam Dong - After a loud explosion at an illegal stone quarry in Bao Loc city, one resident was seriously injured.

On the morning of December 28, a number of men went to quarry stones in the production garden in village 2, Loc Chau commune, Bao Loc city, owned by Mr. Nguyen Van Ngon. At noon of the same day, while splitting stones, a loud explosion occurred at the rock that Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung (53 years old) was chiseling, causing the victim to be thrown far away.

The explosion seriously injured Mr. Hung, causing his left hand to be crushed, his face and head to suffer many serious injuries...

Afterwards, Mr. Hung was taken to Lam Dong II Hospital by the quarrymen and some local residents for emergency treatment. After first aid by doctors at the hospital, the victim was quickly transferred to Cho Ray Hospital (Ho Chi Minh City) for further treatment.

According to the People's Committee of Loc Chau commune, illegal stone mining occurred in Mr. Nguyen Van Ngon's production garden.

After the incident, Bao Loc city authorities were present at the above-mentioned stone mine to examine the scene, serving the investigation to clarify the cause of the incident.
