Taking advantage of the rain to stop, thousands of farmers are gathering in the fields to save rice and crops, however, the flooded area is very large, farmers face the risk of losing the summer-autumn crop.
Floodwaters submerge thousands of hectares of rice and crops
Recorded in Dai Nghia commune (Dai Loc district), many areas of watermelon, chili, corn, and vegetables of all kinds were deeply flooded, only a few days before the harvest date. Mr. Ho Van Teo (Phiem Ai 2 village, Dai Nghia commune) grieffully said: "My family invested nearly 60 million VND in 10 sao of watermelon, now all are submerged in water, there is no way to get rid of it. Now the family does not know how to manage to repay the debt and take care of their children's education."


Similarly, Mr. Tran Thai also in Phiem Ai 2 was sad: "My family grows a few sao of corn and chili, but now it is considered lost. I have never seen unseasonal floods as severe as this year."
Head of Phiem Ai 2 village, Mr. Truong -, added: "According to preliminary statistics, about 70% of the village's crop area has been completely damaged. We hope that the authorities will soon support people to overcome the difficulties".



In Duy Xuyen district, heavy rain combined with water from upstream caused more than 2,510 hectares of rice and crops to be submerged in water. Mr. Nguyen Chi Cong, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Duy Xuyen district, said that many residential roads were cut off, local forces had to put up warning signs and blockades, ensuring safety for people.
The government races to overcome the consequences
Mr. Tran Ut - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Quang Nam informed: In the past 2 days, prolonged heavy rains have caused 16,743 hectares of rice and crops for the 2025 summer-autumn crop in the whole province to be flooded and damaged.
As soon as the natural disaster occurred, the sector directed localities to quickly count the damage, and at the same time coordinate with authorities at all levels to have timely support plans so that people can soon stabilize their lives and production, Mr. Ut affirmed.



In Phu Ninh, where more than 940 hectares of rice and crops were deeply flooded, the district has proactively implemented natural disaster prevention measures, requiring communes to urgently put up warning signs, and be ready to evacuate people from dangerous areas.
In the mountainous district of Tay Giang, heavy rain caused at least 10 serious landslides. Chairman of Ch'Om Commune People's Committee, Mr. Bria Ho, said that he had urgently evacuated 2 households threatened by landslides in Achoong village. The district government requires communes to continue to be vigilant, absolutely not allowing people to access dangerous areas.



Mr. Tran Viet Phuong, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dai Loc district, shared: "Due to the complicated situation, it is difficult to accurately count the level of damage. But we will coordinate with localities to immediately deploy emergency support solutions so that people can soon overcome the consequences and stabilize their lives".
By the afternoon of June 13, the rain had stopped, the Quang Nam provincial government was mobilizing forces to urgently overcome the consequences, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property.
