Phu Tho - When the Lunar New Year Binh Ngo 2026 is approaching, farmers in Da Bac highlands are entering the busiest season of the year, guarding buds and maintaining the position for peach blossoms to bloom on time.

The highlands of Da Bac have long been known as a famous peach growing region of Phu Tho. Peach varieties are mainly selected from high hills and mountains, where the climate is harsher than the lowlands.

Thanks to this, peach blossoms have a characteristic faded pink color, thick petals, durable flowers, and are favored by the market every spring.

According to statistics from Da Bac Commune People's Committee, the whole commune currently has over 20 large-scale gardens, with a total area of over 5 hectares, about over 5,000 peach trees of all kinds such as phai peach, Bich peach, Bach peach. This is considered a crop that brings high economic value to local people in recent years.

In Truc Son hamlet, Da Bac commune, Mr. Tran Thien Tu's family is one of the households that has been attached to the wild peach growing profession for many years. More than 10 years of experience help Mr. Tu accumulate many secrets for taking care of peach trees according to the weather.

Currently, the family's peach garden has about more than 100 ancient peach trees, carefully cared for in each stage. This year, complicated weather conditions make care more difficult. However, many peach trees in the garden still grow well, with even buds, beautiful shapes, ready for the Tet market.

According to Mr. Tu, about 2 months before Tet, peach growers will base on the size of buds and weather developments to peel leaves, helping plants focus nutrients to nourish flowers. The ideal temperature for peach blossoms to develop and bloom on time for the New Year ranges from about 15 - 20 degrees Celsius.

This year's peach prices are relatively stable, commonly from 3 - 5 million VND/tree. For ancient, beautiful peach trees, they can be up to over 30 million VND," Mr. Tu said.
