The body of the victim was last found in the downstream area of Nui Chua dam, in village 7, Quang Chinh commune, on the Tai Chi river.
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, at around 4:45 p.m. on May 21, a group of 7 students and teenagers were swimming together at Hai An Dam, Quang Thanh Commune, Hai Ha District.
When the children went swimming, it was not raining, the water level was relatively low. However, the flood suddenly swept them away.
Immediately after receiving the news, the authorities and local people urgently deployed search and rescue work. The father was rescued and taken to the Hai Ha District Medical Center for timely emergency care.
From the evening of May 21 to 4:00 p.m. on May 23, the authorities found the bodies of the remaining 4 children.
Immediately after the incident, leaders of Hai Ha district visited, encouraged and shared with families whose children were in distress.
The district has given 20 million VND to each family with a deceased person and 3 million VND to each saved child currently being treated at the Hai Ha District Medical Center.
Quang Ninh province also decided to support 25 million VND for each family with a child who died in the incident to encourage the spirit and help the families overcome the pain of loss soon.
