Linh said that since childhood, I heard my grandfather tell the stories of the soldiers, the story of him crossing the mountains and ice, and his teammates participated in the resistance war against the French colonialists. The image of the People's Army soldier then imprinted the mind of the little girl until later.
After graduating from university, unlike her peers, who are looking for a job suitable for her major, Linh expressed her wish to join the military. Hearing the news, my family and friends were surprised but were very supportive, especially my uncle, who is also working in the armed forces.
“The day of writing volunteer to enlist is the day I have expected for a long time. The university degree in hand is a solid luggage in the journey of the army as well as looking for a suitable job after fulfilling the obligation ” - Linh shared.
Mr. Ngo Quang Thai - father of rookie Ngo Thuy Linh said that Linh is the eldest child in the family, the older sister of the two children. From childhood to adulthood, Linh was the pride of her parents, never letting her parents worry because Linh was very independent and proactive in life and studying.
"When I learned that my children had the desire and determination to go to the army, although my wife and I were also worried about the hard work but fully supported me, encouraged my children to prepare well," said Thai.
Eager to leave

“Being admitted to the Party before enlisting is my unexpected happiness. It is also a great source of cheering and the responsibility for me to try harder in the upcoming journey, fulfilling the assigned tasks ” - Linh shared.
Preparing for the upcoming military journey, every day, Linh practices the habit of getting up early, practicing sports, keeping healthy with all the joy and excitement of the new soldier. One thing that Linh is most worried about is that her grandmother is 93 years old, her health is getting weaker and weaker. Knowing that her granddaughter was about to enlist, she told Linh every day.
"I hope she will be healthy to witness the day I fulfill my duty to return home. But now, I am very excited to join the army, shouting 2 words of determination before leaving the road" - Linh said.
