On the morning of September 22, Yen Bai people poured into the streets, tearfully seeing off Uncle Ho's soldiers who had completed their mission of supporting people in flood-hit areas.

In an emotional and grateful atmosphere, Yen Bai people said goodbye to 1,006 officers and soldiers.

The soldiers were present from the first day when the great flood hit here. They were not only rescuers but also companions and a great source of encouragement for the people during difficult times.

During nearly 2 weeks of duty, they did not fear danger or difficulty to be present in the places most severely devastated by floods.

With the spirit of “Forgetting oneself for the people”, the soldiers cleared landslide-hit roads, helped people rebuild their houses, moved their belongings to safety, and especially searched for missing victims.

Seeing them brave the rain, sun, and mud to help each person, everyone felt extremely grateful.”
