On the morning of September 21, the atmosphere at Mr. Tran Anh Dong's house (36A Vo Thi Sau, Dong Tam ward, Yen Bai city) was busier than usual because he had to pack and prepare life jackets to urgently send to his relatives in the Central region.
Knowing that people in the Central provinces are suffering from floods after storm No. 4, with many places flooded up to the roofs, he and people across the country are worried.
"I, like the people of Yen Bai, have just experienced such adversity, so I sympathize with our fellow countrymen in the Central region. From that deep affection, we want to contribute a little bit, extending our support to help the people of the Central region overcome natural disasters," said Mr. Dong.
With that in mind, Mr. Dong did not hesitate to post information on social networks calling for close friends to join hands to help.
"After posting the appeal on social media, many people shared and spread the information. In just over a day, more than 1,000 life jackets were gathered from people in communes along the Yen Bai city river. It is expected that tonight or tomorrow morning (September 22), the group will depart for the Central region," Mr. Dong shared.
Not only life jackets, Mr. Dong said he is also planning to mobilize relatives and friends to send necessities to people in flooded areas.
