On the evening of September 29, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting issued an urgent warning about the flood situation on the Da River.
According to the latest report, in the past 12 hours, Son La hydropower plant has been operating the power generation with an average discharge of 900 m3/s, at one point reaching a peak of 2,212 m3/s (at 8:00 a.m. on September 29).
At Hoa Binh Lake, the water flow has decreased slowly, an average of 5,761 m3/s in the past 12 hours
The highest peak reached 10,578 m3/s (at 11:00 a.m. on September 29), exceeding alert level by about 578 m3/s
Recorded at 4:00 p.m. the same day, the water flow reached 8,333 m3/s, about 333 m3/s higher than alert level 1
The meteorological agency warned that in the coming hours, the flow of the Da River will continue to remain at a large level. In the next 6 hours, it ranges from 8,000 - 9,000 m3/s; from 6 - 12 hours, it ranges from 6,500 - 8,000 m3/s and from 12 - 24 hours, it ranges from 5,000 - 7,000 m3/s.
Rising floods on the Da River cause serious risk of flooding in low-lying areas along the river.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting recommends that provinces and cities in the downstream area of the Da River urgently deploy response measures, proactively evacuate people from dangerous areas and protect production.
