The information was confirmed by Mr. Truong Quoc Bao, Head of Yen Xa Wastewater Treatment Project Management Board (Hanoi Technical and Agricultural Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board) to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters on the afternoon of September 20.
Accordingly, on the same morning, the Project Management Board opened the spillway to discharge wastewater after treatment from the Yen Xa Wastewater Treatment Plant into the To Lich River. The operation is going on stably.
Previously, on September 9, water from West Lake was transported through a separate pipeline, not mixed with the wastewater supplying the To Lich River.
Since August 15, the construction unit has completed the collection of all 245 floodgates on the To Lich River, and brought them to the Yen Xa Wastewater Plant for treatment. Currently, the factory's capacity is 200,000 - 230,000m3/day and night, enough to treat all wastewater along the river.
"Thus, along with the additional water from West Lake, the treated water from Yen Xa Wastewater Plant will contribute to maintaining a continuous and stable flow on To Lich River at 3.5m. At that time, there will be no more odor and the environment will be guaranteed, Mr. Bao affirmed.

Currently, the dam in the Quang bridge area is also operating to keep the river water level. According to Lao Dong, the water of To Lich River has basically become greener and less foul.
It is expected that on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2025), Hanoi City will start construction of a park on both sides of the To Lich River.
