Workers are determined and determined to keep up with the schedule
In recent days, at the construction site of the To Lich River renovation and revival project, hundreds of workers and machinery are working urgently and tirelessly day and night.
The important highlight is the system of 2 water pipes with a diameter of 1.2m from West Lake, to supplement clean water sources, restore flow and improve environmental quality for the river.

Recorded on August 20 in the upstream of To Lich River, at the beginning of Hoang Quoc Viet Street, dozens of workers are coordinating and installing a steel belt system to fix the pipeline under the canal.
The two pipelines run parallel, more than 1.5km long, and are connected to collect water from West Lake to supplement the To Lich River. When the two new pipelines are successfully connected, additional water will flow in regularly, contributing to eliminating odor and significantly improving the quality of the water environment.

Mr. Pham Quang Hien, commander of the project site, said that the construction unit has mobilized about 70 workers, divided into shifts to work continuously day and night to keep the water flow open on August 24-25, 2025.
"When the water of West Lake is replenished, the To Lich River environment will be completely different, no longer polluted and odorful like in many years," Mr. Hien shared.

Along with the water pipeline, sidewalks and railings on both sides of this area are also being renovated. Many construction teams are simultaneously deployed, creating an urgent working atmosphere, demonstrating the city's great determination in reviving the river that was once considered the "dead life" of the capital.

People expect the river to return to green
Having lived on Hoang Quoc Viet Street for many years, Ms. Le Thi Vien (60 years old) said: In the past, when summer opened the windows, the stench of To Lich River was very unpleasant. Now seeing the city determined to renovate, we people are very happy, hoping the river will soon return to the green to make the air more pleasant".
Sharing the same thought, Mr. Vu Hong Linh, who lives on Lac Long Quan Street, expressed: "If the river is revived, it will not only reduce pollution but also create a beautiful landscape, it can become a place for people to walk and exercise. We hope the project will bring a new look to the area.
To Lich River was once associated with the life and history of Hanoi, but has been heavily polluted for many years. With drastic participation and synchronous solutions, the expectation of a reviving, clean and beautiful river, bringing green space to the capital is gradually becoming a reality.
sprinting to revive To Lich River before National Day 2.9
In the days leading up to National Day on September 2, along the To Lich River, there is always an urgent construction atmosphere. Two pipelines over 1.5km long leading water from West Lake have been basically completed, the wastewater collection item to Yen Xa Treatment Plant has also reached 61/63 floodgates. Currently, the Plant is officially operating with a capacity of 180,000m3/day and night and is gradually increasing its capacity to 270,000m3/day and night.
At the same time, the dam has reached 96% of the volume, the embankment, railings, grass carpets, lighting systems and walking paths are being urgently renovated.
The city hopes that the project will not only solve the problem of pollution that has lasted for many years but also revive the flow, bring a green, friendly space, contributing to improving the quality of life for the people of the capital.
