On the afternoon of March 27, the People's Council (HĐND) of Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone, term II, 2026-2031, held the first meeting to consolidate the local government apparatus and decide on many important contents.
At the meeting, the Phu Quoc Special Zone Election Committee reported on the results of the election of delegates to the People's Council of Phu Quoc Special Zone term II, term 2026-2031.
Accordingly, the total number of voters in the area is 81,655 voters, the number of voters participating in the election is 78,324 voters, reaching a rate of 95.92%. The election was organized democratically, in accordance with legal regulations, and the voter turnout was high. 30 delegates were elected as delegates of the People's Council of Phu Quoc Special Zone II, term 2026-2031. The Phu Quoc Special Zone Election Committee also awarded certificates to elected delegates.
The meeting also elected key leadership positions of the People's Council and People's Committee of the special zone for the 2026-2031 term.
As a result, Ms. Dang Thi Hong Gam, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairwoman of the People's Council of term I, term 2021-2026, was trusted by delegates to be elected to hold the position of Chairwoman of the People's Council of Phu Quoc Special Zone term II, term 2026-2031 with 30/30 votes, reaching a rate of 100%.
In addition, elected the title of Chairman and Vice Chairmen of the People's Committee of the special zone. As a result, Mr. Tran Minh Khoa, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Quoc Special Zone term I, term 2021-2026, continued to be trusted by delegates to be elected to hold the title of Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Quoc Special Zone term II, term 2026-2031 with a vote of 30/30, reaching a rate of 100%. Mr. Nguyen Le Quoc Toan, Mr. Ngo Minh Tri, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Loan, were trusted by delegates to be elected to hold the title of Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Quoc Special Zone term II, term 2026-2031.
The session also approved Resolutions on establishing Delegation Teams of the Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone People's Council for the 2026-2031 term. Resolution on the plan to organize regular meetings in 2026. Resolution promulgating working regulations of the People's Council, Standing Committee of the People's Council, Boards of the People's Council of Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone, Delegation Team of the People's Council and delegates of the People's Council of Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone term II, term 2026-2031.
