On June 19, implementing the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the Quang Binh Provincial Military Command (CHQS) organized an emergency handling of a large rock block at high risk of landslides in Truong Xuan commune, Quang Ninh district.
The rock block is located precariously on the mountainside, about 350m from Khe Ngang village cultural house, 3.2m long, 1.3m wide, 2.1m high and weighing nearly 30 tons. This area has a slope of up to 67 degrees, posing a potential risk of landslides that directly threaten people below.
After carefully surveying the terrain and evaluating the optimal plan, the forces of the Provincial Military Command conducted the blasting to cause an imbalance, allowing it to roll back to the low pressure area safely, completely eliminating the risk of landslides.

Previously, to ensure absolute safety during the handling process, the unit coordinated with local authorities to organize warnings, evacuate people and property from dangerous areas, and at the same time erect fences and deploy additional anti-landslide measures.
The successful handling of the giant rock not only ensures the safety of people's lives and property but also demonstrates the proactive and timely role of the provincial military forces in natural disaster prevention and community protection.
Previously, as Lao Dong Newspaper reported, more than 20 Bru - Van Kieu households in Khe Ngang village are living in fear of a large rock rolling down from a high hill to a residential area. Many rocks hanging in the middle of the forest directly threaten people's lives.
Mr. Ho Suu - Head of Khe Ngang village said that the incident had occurred for a while, and the people had repeatedly petitioned the government in hope of a solution. The commune government has inspected the scene and reported to superiors.
