On February 14, news from the Department of Construction of Khanh Hoa province said that the locality has agreed on a plan to install and adjust information on the lane separation sign system, allowing cars to share the lane with motorbikes and bicycles on some sections of Tran Phu street (Nha Trang ward).
This adjustment is expected by the locality to reduce prolonged traffic jams and congestion over the past time.
Accordingly, functional agencies of Khanh Hoa province have agreed on a plan to install and adjust the content on lane separation signs in the direction of allowing cars to share the lane with motorbikes and bicycles in some sections; the remaining sections maintain the existing traffic organization.
Currently, the Department of Construction has deployed the installation and adjustment of the sign system to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
At the same time, ensuring traffic safety, urban aesthetics and not causing conflicts in traffic organization on the entire route.
In addition, the Provincial Police are assigned to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Construction, Nha Trang Ward People's Committee and related units to urgently inspect, review, and study adjusting the signal light cycle time at intersections on the Tran Phu route to increase traffic flow.
Previously, lane separation on this coastal road caused cars and passenger cars in some cases to only circulate in one lane, leading to congestion, especially during peak hours and holidays.
Mr. Tran Van Lac - a Grab driver in Nha Trang, expressed agreement with the above adjustment plan.
In the past, the road only had 2 lanes, but cars were almost only allowed to travel in one lane, so there were frequent traffic jams. This adjustment will help reduce congestion and save time for people," Mr. Tin said.
