Binh Dinh voters reported that the lack of synchronization, too many and unclear traffic signs has caused difficulties, fatigue, and danger to vehicle operators.
Many people accidentally violate the law and are punished without knowing, especially with signs showing lower speeds than the speed prescribed for each type of road.
Voters recommend reviewing and re-evaluating this situation and having solutions to overcome and limit traffic accidents; at the same time, it is necessary to build a smart traffic management system, providing accurate and timely information for vehicles in circulation and convenient in management.
Responding to voters' recommendations, the Ministry of Construction said that after the Road Law and the Road Traffic Order and Safety Law came into effect, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha directed relevant ministries and the People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities to conduct a general review, resolve and handle the shortcomings of the system of signs, traffic lights, licensing, arranging stops, parking lots, etc., causing traffic conflicts.
The Ministry of Construction has also issued many documents directing agencies and units to review and handle problems arising in traffic organization on a number of expressways and on national highways.
The Ministry of Transport (now the Ministry of Construction) has issued the National Technical Regulation on Road Signs (QCVN 41:2024/BGTVT), which has specifically stipulated the roadmap for completing the replacement of signs that are not in accordance with the standards, requiring immediate replacement of inappropriate signs that can easily lead to traffic insecurity.
On April 4, 2025, the Government Office continued to issue Document No. 2838/VPCP-CN conveying the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha requesting agencies and units to continue reviewing and handling shortcomings and inadequacies in traffic organization.
Based on the direction of the Deputy Prime Minister, the Ministry of Construction has directed relevant agencies and units and requested localities to organize implementation.
Through the synthesis of implementation results reports sent by agencies and units, it can be seen that there are 10,520 signs nationwide with different levels of inadequacy, 8,996 signs (86%) have been fixed affecting traffic participants, traffic safety; the remaining 1,524 signs (14%) of signs are not inadequate, but some adjustment solutions are needed to increase efficiency.
For example, in many cases, the sign reflection is correct and sufficient, but installing on the column, it is necessary to invest in a sportsdoor price to hang and install a sign on a sportsdoor price for vehicles participating in traffic to be more easily observed.
The Ministry will continue to supplement and overcome after the state budget and other resources are supplemented for implementation in 2025 or included in the road infrastructure maintenance plan implemented in 2026.
Regarding building a smart transportation system. In the past time, implementing the direction of the Government and the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Construction has been directing investors of expressway construction projects to build Expressway Traffic Management and Operation Centers.
For the expressways currently in operation, they will continue to be completed, adding a smart traffic management system to serve the operation.
In urban areas and local routes, People's Committees at all levels, based on the provisions of the Road Law and other relevant laws, will be responsible for investing in building Smart Traffic Management and Operation Centers in urban areas.
The functional units of the public security sector have invested in infrastructure to manage and monitor road traffic synchronously and modernly and effectively serve the work of commanding, operating traffic, and handling road traffic violations.
