Quang Binh - 3 MK81 bombs were discovered in Quang Tri and Quang Binh provinces, have been safely treated and are awaiting detonation.

On March 19, the MAG Bomb and mine consultancy group in Vietnam said that they had just moved a bomb weighing about 118kg to a safe storage area to wait for centralized detonation.

During the construction and repair of the bridge connecting Chuon village with Con Cung village (Kim Thuy commune, Le Thuy district, Quang Binh province), a large bomb was discovered right under the bridge abutment, causing the entire project to be temporarily suspended to ensure safety.

Receiving a request for handling from the Quang Binh Provincial Military Command, the MAG Bomb and mine Advisory Group arrived at the scene to handle the matter.

The bomb was identified as MK81, weighing about 118kg, with a selective radius of more than 1km. The bomb was then brought to a safe state and successfully transported to a waiting area for detonation.

Previously, on March 12, people in Dan Hoa commune (Minh Hoa district, Quang Binh) discovered the tail of a large bomb exposed after the stream water level dropped.

The MK81 bomb weighing about 113kg was located in the middle of a stream, near a house and only 200m from National Highway 12. The dedicated team of PeaceTrees Vietnam PeaceTrees Vietnam took more than 4 hours to process and transport the bomb to a safe warehouse.

On March 11, while digging the foundation of a house in Long Quy village (Tan Long commune, Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri), workers discovered a large bomb.

The task force quickly handled, evacuated people and took the MK81 bomb weighing about 113kg out of the densely populated area, ensuring safety, and transferred the bomb to a safe storage facility for further handling.
