Lam Dong Department of Construction said that through the review, the agency discovered 4 intersections in Da Huoai district with damaged traffic lights that had not been repaired or handled. These are at Km94+500, National Highway 20.44+250, Road 721 and Km0+526 Road 26-3, Da Teh Town; Km0+450 Dinh Bo Linh Street, Cat Tien Town.
The authorities have also discovered 15 locations on national highways managed by Road Management Area IV, Vietnam Road Administration with shortcomings such as steep roads, densely populated areas lacking acceleration edges, steep curves with limited visibility, high-speed vehicles causing traffic insecurity... concentrated in areas of Di Linh and Duc Trong districts.
The Department of Construction of Lam Dong province recommends that the Vietnam Road Administration direct Road Management Area IV to continue reviewing to promptly handle and overcome shortcomings in traffic organization on National Highways 20, 28, and 27 to ensure traffic safety for people and vehicles.
Previously, in February 2025, the Government Office issued a directive to Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha on reviewing and handling shortcomings and inadequacies in road traffic organization.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Construction to preside over and, together with the Ministry of Public Security and the People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities, conduct a general review and resolve shortcomings in the system of signs, traffic lights, licensing, arranging stops, parking, parking lots, etc., causing traffic conflicts.
According to Decree 168/2024, effective from 2025, the fine for non-compliance with traffic lights is 4-6 million VND for motorbike drivers and 18-20 million VND for car drivers.
The Traffic Police Department also recommends that drivers stop their vehicles in front of the line when the lights turn yellow. In case the vehicle has crossed the stop line, it is still allowed to move. Those who give way to priority vehicles such as fire trucks, ambulances, etc. will not be punished, even if they do not comply with traffic signals. If people think that the punishment is not satisfactory, they can complain or file a lawsuit. Traffic police will review and compare related factors to ensure fair handling.
