On December 29, Dat Do Commune People's Committee (Ho Chi Minh City) coordinated with the Commune Police, Mobile Forest Ranger Team and Forest Fire Prevention and Fighting No. 3 (Ho Chi Minh City Sub-Department of Forest Protection) to receive an individual Hong Hoang bird handed over by people.
Hong Hoang bird (scientific name: Buceros bicornis) is an animal belonging to the group of priority protected species. Previously, Mr. N.S.S (resident of Dat Do commune) informed the authorities about the discovery of the rare bird, and then proceeded to hand it over according to regulations.
Recently, in Ho Chi Minh City, there have been a number of cases of discovery and handover of this precious bird species to functional agencies.
The functional agency of Dat Do commune also requested people to absolutely not hunt, trade, raise or harm rare, endangered or injured animals, but to calmly protect the scene and promptly notify the Commune People's Committee, Commune Police, Forest Ranger Team or the nearest functional agency.
