On August 4, while supporting people to overcome the consequences of floods, officers and soldiers of the 82nd Regiment, Division 355 (Military Region 2) discovered a bomb (weight not yet determined) in the Pa Vat bridge area, Pa Vat 2 village, Muong Luan commune.
To ensure safety, the unit has assigned guards and asked people to stay away from the dangerous area.
On the same afternoon, the unit dispatched 20 officers and soldiers in coordination with 3 engineers of the Dien Bien Provincial Military Command to move the bomb out of the safe residential area.
According to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dien Bien province, from July 31 to August 4, the whole province had 10 deaths, 12 injuries, and more than 600 houses damaged. The total estimated property damage is over 700 billion VND.
Specifically, in Muong Luan commune, 90 houses were damaged. Of which, 10 houses were completely damaged by floodwaters and completely collapsed; 24 houses were severely damaged; 51 houses were affected by natural disasters; 29 houses are at risk and need to be relocated.
In recent days, floods and landslides in the North Central and Northern mountainous provinces have killed and left many people missing, houses, schools and maple blossoms were swept away and submerged in mud, affecting local production activities.
